Counseling in Oregon with care, understanding, and support.
Hi! My name is Alexis Aiger (McCormack) and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and the owner of Positive Approaches, LLC. I have a firm belief that everyone is doing the very best they can with the resources they were given, but they weren’t all given the same set of tools. Because of this, some people struggle while other people strive. It is my top priority to help my clients develop the right tool for their particular struggle.
I believe, first and foremost, that success starts with the relationship. The number one factor determining success in counseling is if the client feels connected with their counselor. I believe this starts with understanding and unconditional positive regard. This means my clients will never face judgement from me and will receive wholehearted care and support as they work towards their goals.
I work with each client to craft a unique, individualized treatment plan. I don’t assume “problems” and “solutions.” Rather, we work together to identify what the client wants to work on and strategies to help them reach their ideal state of being. This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book an appointment?
We can book an appointment after a free 15-minute consultation call, which you can schedule with the button above. Or you can schedule without a consultation call by contacting me directly.
Do you only see people with anxiety or depression?
No! We see people with all sorts of concerns. Depression, anxiety, life transitions, and eating disorders are the most frequent “problems.” However, we will see people struggling with other things too if the relationship is a good fit and if it’s not outside my scope of knowledge and profession.
What if we aren’t a good fit to work together?
That’s okay! I know that I’m not the right counselor for everyone. If either you or I don’t think it’s a good fit, I’m happy to assist you in finding another counselor.
Do you accept insurance?
I do! I am in-network with United/UMR, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Providence. I am also happy to directly bill other insurance companies as an out-of-network provider if you have those benefits. If you choose not to use insurance, my fee is $175 per session.
